Our most recent auctions have been more than encouraging with a fantasic result. We have had strong bidding from several first home buyers who have been almost extinct since the first home buyers grant was reduced.
Over the past few months investors have formed a core part of our business, evidenced by an ex pat from Abu Dhabi buying a commercial property under the hammer at Brisbane Road NEWTOWN and a young local couple securing their first investment home in Bridson Avenue EAST IPSWICH.
Encouraging to note is movement in the higher end of the price range. With 10 bidders attending our recent auction on an acreage property in KARRABIN, the highest bid being $870 000, negotiations are still continuing. Also selling was a property in Canning Street NORTH IPSWICH for over $400 000, the first time this ceiling price has been broken in the suburb for quite some time.
